What kind of information does Shrink Fan collect?
Shrink Fan receives and stores information a User/Subscriber sends to us.
When a User becomes a Subscriber, Shrink Fan obtains and retains the Registration Data.
When a User requests pages from the Site's server, the Site Web server automatically collects some information about such User, including the User's IP addresses.
Shrink Fan collects information regarding a User's use of the Site through the use of cookies.
If a User is asked to verify their age, Shrink Fan keeps the result of that check, as described in the age verification section below. Shrink Fan also uses a User's IP address to determine their approximate location, as described in the location section below.
If a User sends the Site or Shrink Fan personal correspondence, such as e-mails or letters, Shrink Fan may collect such information in a file specific to that User. Shrink Fan may maintain a record or notes of communications with a User regarding use of or access to the Site, and that compilation of records or notes may include information Shrink Fan receives from other sources.
All of the information listed in this section is sometimes referred to as "Customer Information".
How does age verification work?
Laws in some countries and US states require us to confirm that members are adults before showing them adult content. If you are in one of those places, you will be asked to verify your age once.
Verification is carried out by Yoti Ltd, an independent age verification provider. You choose the method: a selfie for facial age estimation, a scan of an identity document, or the Yoti app. Your selfie and identity document go directly to Yoti. Shrink Fan never sees, receives or stores them.
From Yoti, Shrink Fan receives only whether you met the age requirement, the method you used, the date of the check, and a reference number for it.
Yoti carries out the check on Shrink Fan's behalf. It deletes your selfie as soon as your age has been estimated, and your identity document as soon as your age has been confirmed. Yoti keeps a record of the result, but not your images, for up to 6 months on Shrink Fan's behalf. More detail is in Yoti's Age Verification Privacy Notice.
If you use the Yoti app, you share your age from your own Yoti account, which Yoti looks after under its own Digital ID Privacy Notice.
Your verification status is linked to your Shrink Fan account, so you only need to verify once.
Why does Shrink Fan check a User's location?
Shrink Fan uses your IP address to determine your approximate country and, in the United States, your state. This is used only to decide whether age verification laws apply where you are.
The lookup runs on our own servers using a geolocation database. Your IP address is not sent to anyone else for this purpose. If your location cannot be determined, we treat it as a place where verification is required.
Who sees a User's Customer Information?
Shrink Fan does not distribute, rent or sell Customer Information to third parties, other than (i) with the User's consent (including, for example, when a User Transmits for public display on the Site Customer Information, or a portion thereof), (ii) as necessary to process User-authorized payments through our payment processors, (iii) the information a User provides directly to our age verification provider, as described in the age verification section above, or (iv) as otherwise permitted by the TOS.
How does Shrink Fan use Customer Information?
Shrink Fan uses Customer Information as necessary to process payment for User, to facilitate a User's viewing of the Site, to comply with age verification laws, and to communicate with the User.
Shrink Fan also uses Customer Information to compile broad demographic and Site usage information about the Site Users, for its internal business use, but such compilations generally do not contain anything that could be used to identify a User personally.
A User will not receive promotional e-mails from Shrink Fan unless the User has requested it, and a User can indicate at any time that the User does not wish to receive e-mails from Shrink Fan.
How long does Shrink Fan keep Customer Information?
Shrink Fan keeps a User's verification result for as long as their account exists, so they are not asked to verify again. Shrink Fan never holds a User's selfie or identity document, so there is none to delete.
Other Customer Information is kept while the account is active, and afterwards for as long as needed to meet legal, tax and payment-dispute obligations.
How secure is a User's Customer Information?
Shrink Fan takes reasonable precautions to maintain the security of Customer Information. Payments are entered on our payment processors' secure pages, not on the Site, and Shrink Fan does not receive or store full card numbers. Shrink Fan maintains Customer Information in a reasonably secure manner, including storing such Customer Information behind firewalls.
However, Shrink Fan may buy other businesses or sell portions of its own business, and Customer Information may be a transferred asset, subject to any then existing Privacy Notice.
Can minors use Shrink Fan?
No. Shrink Fan is for adults only. Shrink Fan does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, or under the age of majority where they live if that is higher. If Shrink Fan learns that an account belongs to a minor, it closes the account.
What choices does a User have?
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete the Customer Information Shrink Fan holds about you, including your verification result. To make a request, write to support@interwebcomics.com from the email address on your account. To protect your privacy, Shrink Fan only responds to the email address registered on an account, and may ask you to confirm a request before acting on it. Users in the UK and EU may also complain to their local data protection authority.
Will this policy change?
Shrink Fan may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
