Maybe it was the rush to get to Baldur's Gate. Maybe they got too confident after vanquishing Ketheric. Either way, the party had let their guard down. Now they've paid the price when a cheeky cultist wizard cast a curse upon their camp overnight. The curse diminished all affected in size and strength. They were so vulnerable a common squirrel could end their lives.
The good news was it seemed some within the party managed to evade the effects of the curse. Astarion being one of them, he quickly noticed the many small peeps and squeaks of peril as he awoke the next morning. "Oh dear," he remarked. "Now we can't save the world from the Absolute when half of us wouldn't win a wrestling match with my thumb, can we?"
"Hah!" Karlach replied, "Wanna bet, Bitey?"
"This is no time for such nonsense." Minthara was clearly unamused. "We will end this curse immediately before the Absolute take advantage of this vulnerable state."
Lae'zel snarled, "Do as the drow says. I loath every second I remain in this useless state."
"Really?" Shadowheart commented. "Because I could get used to you being like this. Anyone could keep you in line, and you couldn't hurt a fly."
"Shka'keth! I should curse you with this very spell and keep you in my boot!"
"Now now," Astarion spoke above the little women's bickering. "You ladies are so very used to seeing everything as glasses half-empty. We'll let our good friend 'Tav see about fixing this curse. But before that, I think you ladies need to loosen up. And I'm happy to help with that..."
