Celes had taken Terra out to train their magic one day and decided to show her a spell that had many uses: the "mini" spell! Celes took some time to show Terra its effect on object and living creatures, but as the little teaching session went on, Celes figured it wouldn't hurt to show off one of the spell's more unique applications. Celes proudly displayed how the magic could work on its user by casting the mini spell on herself, much to Terra's amazement.
Bewildered by her teacher shrinking herself, Terra immediately copied what Celes had done and cast the mini spell on herself, rapidly following the blonde woman down in size. When Terra next opened her eyes, she was surprised by how big everything had gotten for her. It took a little bit out of her to cast her new magic, but she was glad that she had done it perfectly like Celes had showed her!
Meanwhile, far below the freshly shrunken Terra, an even smaller Celes stared up in shock and awe at her massive student. Terra had cast the mini spell perfectly, but what she hadn't accounted for was Terra's powerful magic being boosted by her half-esper nature... and the proximity between them when she shrank. This, of course, had resulted in poor little Celes shrinking again as well, making the former general even tinier!
To make matters worse, Celes had accidentally used up all of her magic power during her many demonstrations for Terra, and could not restore herself. Terra continued to look around for any signs of Celes up and nearby... but never thinking to look below herself for the unfortunate blonde. Celes remained still for another few moments before realizing she needed to get Terra's attention (and fast)! Otherwise, she might never be seen again at her new and ultra-tiny size.
Celes knew Terra had magic power to spare. So, as long as she could get her student's attention, the only other thing she had to worry about was whether or not Terra would be able to even hear her explaining how to cast the growth spell!
