A Weekend Alone: Megalohydrothalassophobia

After narrowly escaping being trampled by Centorea’s hooves in a confined space, Sarah and Neil had stumbled into a serene-looking room with a large, still pool at its center. Exhausted and soaked in sweat, they slumped by the water’s edge, desperate to catch their breath. Little did they know, the pool wasn’t empty.

Mero, the mermaid, had been resting beneath the surface. Intrigued by the newcomers' presence, she stirred, unintentionally sending a splash of water cascading over them. The sudden wave knocked Sarah and Neil into the water, where panic set in. Neither could swim fast enough to surface before being caught in Mero’s graceful movements as she began to swim.

Neil managed to grab onto Mero’s tail fin as it passed by, clinging with all his strength to avoid being swept into the dark abyss below. The undulating motion of her powerful tail sent shockwaves through his arms, testing his grip with every stroke. The cool water stung his eyes as he strained to keep them open, the distant light above becoming a dim blur.

Sarah wasn’t so lucky. The rush of water dragged her into the frilly edges of Mero’s bikini, where she became tangled, her tiny body barely visible against the expanse of Mero’s smooth, shimmering scales. As Mero’s movements caused the fabric to sway gently, Sarah was tossed back and forth, the looming weight of Mero’s cleavage casting an almost suffocating shadow above her. She clawed at the fabric in desperation, her cheeks puffed as she struggled to hold her breath, but her strength was fading fast.

Mero swam on, unaware of the two tinies clinging to her, her attention drawn to the rhythmic flow of water and the serenity of the pool’s depths. Her tail flicked effortlessly, propelling her deeper into the murky abyss, her movements both beautiful and terrifying in their magnitude. For Neil and Sarah, the weight of the water and the endless expanse of darkness below were enough to strike pure, primal fear into their hearts.

With every passing second, their struggle grew more desperate. The question lingered: how long could they hold on before their strength—and their breath—ran out?
